About the Image Round Corners Tool

The Image Round Corners tool runs entirely in your browser. Drop or select an image, choose the corner radius with the slider, and pick whether the trimmed area should be transparent, white, or black. Click Apply Corners and the image is redrawn on a canvas using a rounded-rectangle clip path built from four ctx.arc calls at the corners. The corners outside the path are removed, leaving a clean rounded shape. Download the result as a PNG — if Transparent is selected, the PNG keeps its alpha channel so the rounded corners blend with any background. Nothing is uploaded — everything happens locally with JavaScript on your device.

How to use the tool

  1. Click the drop zone or drop an image file onto it.
  2. Adjust the Corner radius slider — 0 for sharp corners, up to 200 for very rounded.
  3. Choose the Background for the trimmed corners: transparent, white, or black.
  4. Click Apply Corners, then Download to save the PNG, or Clear to start over.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the preview background checkered? The checkerboard pattern shows where the canvas is transparent, so you can preview how rounded corners will look before downloading.

Does the radius scale with image size? The radius is in pixels of the original image, so larger images need larger radius values for the same visual effect.

Does this tool upload my images? No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.

What is the output format? A PNG file. PNG preserves transparency, so transparent corners remain transparent when placed over other content.
